Yellow Perch - Often called ringed perch or striped perch, most yellow perch weigh 1/4 to 3/4 pounds, but some waters yield 1- to 2- pound jumbos that measure 13 inches or more in length. What makes the yellow perch so endearing to anglers is that they run in schools and are eager biters, so you generally catch them in bunches. They do well in clear-water habitats ranging from small ponds to large lakes.
